Booker T. Washington HSPVA
Theatre Showcase
Nov. 20th and 21st
ABOUT
Booker T. Washington's annual theatre senior showcase provides an opportunity for seniors to present their work accumulated and refined over their four years at school. Every senior in theatre participates, showcasing in at least one area of theatre.
Over the course of their high school experience, theatre students take various classes offered at Booker T. Washington, such as Mime, Classical Acting, Set Construction, Stage Management, Lights & Sound, and many others. In these classes, students are expected to create projects that demonstrate their abilities that they have improved on in the class. Booker T. Washington Theatre puts on three "mainstage" shows and three play festivals every year, and students are encouraged to participate in these shows in various roles, whether that be actor, costume designer, stage manager, or other. The theatre senior showcase allows for students to present their work to colleges created both in class and out of class.
